Product innovation will be at the very top of the agenda when Farm Shop & Deli Show returns this March 30th-1st April, NEC Birmingham). The flagship event which brings together the great and good of the UK speciality market will be alive with over 400 exhibitors, boasting a staggering 137 brand new product launches.
Visitors will get the inside track on 2020’s latest, greatest launches, alongside the chance to see and sample some of the country’s finest speciality fayre.
The Farm Shop & Deli Show exhibitor line-up is a hotbed of innovative movers and shakers who are disrupting the market and making waves in key trend categories. Here’s a selection of just some of the exciting suppliers and NPD to put on any visitors’ must-see list:
Low to No
With falling alcohol consumption, more mindful drinking and a trend towards premiumisation, the stage is set for a bright future for low and no alcohol beverages; and there’s certainly no shortage of innovative suppliers on display at this year’s show. Dalston’s Soda (Stand J81) will be showcasing its new alcohol-free Gin & Tonic sparkling botanicals range. The recipes contain a blend of distilled botanicals including juniper, coriander seed and lemon balm and come in Classic or Rhubarb flavour.
Sea Arch Drinks Ltd. (Stand C128) is a sophisticated, calorie free, non-alcoholic spirit. Inspired by the sea and bursting with coastal freshness it uses 12 botanicals individually extracted using centuries old techniques. NPD on display will include Sea Arch, Sea & T, a ready to drink, non-alcoholic spirit with tonic. Vegan friendly and free from sugar, sweeteners, allergens and preservatives.
The Mixology Collection (Stand E115) will be introducing The Hudson Standard, a range of small batch Shrubs featuring the pure flavours of the Hudson Valley. Its syrups are distinctly tart and sweet, blending seasonal fruits and spices with organic apple cider vinegar. Its bitters are made by finding the best quality ingredients and extracting the bright clear expressions of the individual elements. All of its products are handcrafted, natural and sustainable.
And not forgetting CBD water brand ThreeDots (Stand E106) which is launching a sparkling trio at the show. ThreeDots carefully crafts its naturally flavoured sparkling water and infuse it with 15mg of CBD and three powerful botanicals (otherwise known as adaptogens) to help regulate stress. Low in sugar and only 17kcal per drink.
Free-From / Plant Based
With the boom in free-from and plant-based eating, Farm Shop & Deli show is the place to be to see some exciting new innovation in this fast-moving and fast-growing category.
Check out The Unrefined Bakery (Stand B129) which has reinvented some of the UK’s most loved sweet treats in order to provide far more nutritional value, with absolutely no loss of delicious taste. Its products are vegan and free from refined sugars, gluten and anything artificial. There will be also two new products on show including an Almond Butter Flapjack and a Rocky Road.
Projuice (Stand G108) the wholesale smoothie, shake and ice cream suppliers will be showing off its cheeky range of vegan ice cream shakes. Available in three flavours Intense Chocolate: Chocolate Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate Chips; Black Velvet: Vanilla Ice Cream with Real Blackcurrants and Strawberry n Peach: Vanilla Ice Cream with Real Fruit. Simply blend with oat or soya milk for a dairy free delight.
The Spice Pioneer (Stand D132) is launching five perfected spice mixes called Power Pods. The range includes Chicken Lollipops, Chilli con Carne, Fajita, Katsu Curry and Peri-Peri Chicken. All spice mixes are gluten-free, vegetarian and made with only natural ingredients. Each blend is crafted using global ingredients that are carefully selected depending on their quality to guarantee their powerful taste.
Welovemanfood (Stand K120) will be displaying its new plant-based range of Janda condiments and sauces. There are 10 condiments and spreads available, all of which are suitable for vegans. Visitors will be simply spoilt for choice.
Food-to-Go
With food-to-go forecast to be worth £21.7bn in 2020* Farm Shop & Deli Show is the place to spot the latest new products that can help accelerate sales growth.
Wilding Snacks (Stand C105) is a company that offers exciting and innovative products, full of flavour and texture. At the show visitors will get to see and sample the company’s latest NPD; the UK’s first Lamb Crackling snacks. Using only the finest ingredients, the premium lamb snacks are full of rich flavour yet much lighter in texture than traditional pork crackling. Products are 100% natural, gluten- free, low carb and high in protein.
Eurofood Services Limited (Stand C109) will be showcasing its Scraegg snacks single serving system. Providing perfect scrambled eggs, porridge and soups at the push of a button around the clock. Every single snack is freshly prepared for customers in under a minute and can be offered in a ‘2go cup’ or plated.
The Coffee Boss Ltd. (Stand P101) will be unveiling its fully automated CBD Vienna Bean to Cup coffee machine which, capitalising on the trend for CBD, now dispenses drinks with CBD included. Fully touch screen-enabled and able to make 150 cups per hour, it’s set to be a real showstopper this year.
