Farm Shop & Deli Show 2018 brings the newest artisan products to the NEC from 16–18 April
Farm Shop & Deli Show will return to the NEC from 16-18 April with the latest artisan products coming into the market, offering visiting retailers the first opportunity to strike up business relationships with their future stockists.
The sector’s leading event for delicatessens, farm shops, restaurants, garden centres, food halls, butcheries and bakeries will bring together hundreds of companies, all showcasing their best wares.
Among them will be fresh herb champions A Little Bit Food Company, which has expanded its popular range of ambient dips with a mint, pea and parsley dip. Made with all-natural ingredients, snackers can dip straight from the jar or add to pasta or bruschetta. This product is gluten free and suitable for the growing market of vegetarians and vegans.
With our nation’s well documented love of tea, this favourite beverage will be well represented at Farm Shop & Deli Show. One such company is Archivist, which will launch its Flamboyant & Co teas exclusively at the show. With bright, distinctive packaging, its innovative flavour range includes White Tea & Mango; Tumeric Chai & Jasmine Green Tea; Gin & Tonic; and Green Darjeeling. Caffeine-free flavours are also available in the Good Night Tea and Ginger & Lemongrass variants. There is a choice of either loose leaf or pyramid teabags (all fully recyclable) and the tea is sold in 150g or 15 teabag packs.
On the harder side of the drinks category, Black Wolf Brewery will bring its new Boe Gin range – Boe Violet Gin (41.5%); Boe Peach & Hibiscus Gin Liqueur (20%); and Bow Scottish Bramble Gin Liqueur (20%).
Confectionery will also be well covered at the event as Billington’s Gingerbread will exhibit for the first time, bringing its sumptuous gingerbread packs. They each contain 15 fingers of deliciously crisp and aromatic gingerbread packed in three layers and presented in a beautifully illustrated, soft touch Billington’s box, including viewing window, product history and serving suggestions.
Meanwhile, Coco Chocolatier, the premium artisan chocolate producer, will showcase its innovative range, all packaged in original artwork designed by up and coming artists. The company specialises in unusual flavour combinations from Gin & Tonic to Artisan Roast Espresso Dark Chocolate and Lavender, each flavour is crafted as a work of art. There are 12 different flavours to choose from, and a special 6 or 12 bar gift box can be curated for the perfect present. Each bar retails at between RRP £4.50 - £4.95 and gift boxes from £28 for 6 bars in an original artwork box.
Always an event that generates huge excitement, the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2018, sponsored by Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses and PriceCardPro, will take place on Monday 16 April. Thirteen category winners, a set of regional winners and the overall Retailer of the Year will be announced after weeks of secret judging up and down the country, led by BBC Radio Two star and food connoisseur Nigel Barden.
The winners of Britain’s Best Loaf will also be revealed, with the nation’s top bakers pitting their proofing against the rest for accolades including Best Sourdough, Best Wholegrain and Best Gluten Free Loaf.
The Farm Shop & Deli Live stage will draw the crowds once again, with an all-star speaker line up. TV personality and Gloucestershire farmer Adam Henson will undergo a live interview with Richard Fox to tackle how the public can be helped to understand the integrity and pride farmers take in producing food.
Inspirational couple Terry and Carol Tang will also be the centre of attention as they regale crowds with how they have built an award-winning business together, named Terry Tang Designer Cakes. Visitors looking to take a step into the world of entrepreneurialism will be well placed with a seat at this session, as the Tang family explain how they transformed their passion into profit.
The stage will see a full three days-worth of speakers, all geared up to help budding and established business owners take the next steps in their quests for greater success. The winning exhibitors of the Great New Idea competition will also be announced at the show. Visitors can look out for those products in the running at the show, which will be marked with a Great New Idea sticker, and be the first to see the winner announced.
