Britain’s Best Loaf 2019
The 2019 Britain’s Best Loaf competition, sponsored by Craggs and Co, was back for another year at Farm Shop & Deli Show at the NEC in Birmingham on Monday 8 April.
Bakers from accross the country that reckoned they had the best loaf entered into one of our five categories – Sourdough, Wholegrain, White, Innovation and Gluten Free.
Once again industry professionals, including former Best Loaf winners, had the tough job of choosing the worthy winners.
Overall winner: Wholemeal sourdough, Poppyseed Bakery
Innovation: Pappa-G’s Taste of India, The Danish Bakery
Gluten Free:Incredible Cinnamon & Raisin Boule, Incredible Bakery Company
White: City Loaf, Bishopston Bakery Co
Wholegrain: Spelt and sunflower seeds sourdough, The Baking Room
