Some of the previous winners have also shared their tips on entering such as:
“My advice is don’t be afraid to enter the awards. Tell the judges who you are, what you do, what sets you apart, what values you have in your business, what makes your customers come to your shop. Be honest, tell them your true story.”
“My advice to those considering entering is just do it. Make sure you put some time aside to sit down and work your way through the entry form. It can seem a little a little daunting when you look at it but it really just sums up what you do, and what you love about what you do. Write it from the heart and submit.”
“My advice to those thinking of entering is just get on with it. Do think about your entry though, try to really distil what you do very clearly for the judges.”
"Its important to be proud of what you do and not hide your light under a bushel."
"Really think about what it is your business brings to the sector and let the passion for what you do shine through!"
"Look at what you do for customers, staff, the local community and the local economy and highlight all your achievements, as well as your plans for the future."
